Repiping
Homes built before 1970 were frequently constructed using galvanized pipes. Over time, galvanized metal rusts from the inside-out, creating problems that homeowners typically don’t realize until the damage is already done. Repiping involves replacing corroded pipes with those made from longer-lasting, more durable copper pipe. Benefits include cleaner, better-tasting water, enhanced water pressure, greater flow, reduced leaking potential and easier maintenance.
Relining
An alternative repair option is to line existing pipes with an epoxy material that creates a new interior surface. Called pipelining, this method seals off leaks and prevents damaged parts of the original pipe to enter the water supply.
