How To Unclog A Toilet

A toilet clog is one of the most common plumbing issues. And in most cases, toilet clogs are relatively easy to fix. Our Southern California plumbers recommend using a plunger to fix a simple clog. First, you will want to turn off the water to the toilet to prevent overflowing.

Next, you will need to cover the drain hole with the plunger. If there isn’t a lot of water in the toilet, you will need to add some. After that, you will need to push down on the plunger and then pull up without breaking the suction. Our Orange County and Los Angeles plumbers recommend doing this a few times, making sure you do not apply too much pressure since this can break the wax ring. If that occurs, then the toilet will need to be removed for wax replacement.

After you have plunged a few times, you will need to release the suction. Hopefully, this will remove the clog. If the clog still remains, you can repeat the process until the stoppage is cleared.

If you are unable to clear the clog on your own, don’t worry, an Orange County and Los Angeles plumber from Adeedo! can help.
